About Us
The Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation (LSRF) is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in 2002 and revitalized in 2020, focused on financing capital improvements and ongoing infrastructure upgrades at Laguna Seca Raceway.
The all-volunteer Board of Directors guides the Foundation’s efforts, their individual motorsports histories merging around a common passion for Laguna Seca Raceway and ensuring that in all ways it reflects Coastal California’s popular resort communities on the Monterey Peninsula.
Our Mission
The Laguna Seca Raceway Foundation (LSRF) is fully focused on the visitor experience at the world-class Laguna Seca Raceway, with fundraising a priority to ensure the availability of capital for both maintenance and enhancement projects.
Opening in Fall 1957 with a sports car race that attracted many of the world’s best drivers, Laguna Seca would quickly become a hub for pro racing on the West Coast, its sweeping corners, elevation changes and Monterey Peninsula location positioning it as one of the premier courses worldwide.
History of the Foundation
Laguna Seca Raceway took shape in a dry lake bed on the south side of the U.S. Army’s expansive Fort Ord, built as a permanent replacement for the popular but increasingly dangerous, through-the-streets Pebble Beach Road Races.
